ABOUT US

Chehalis Jr. Cats Youth Football was established in 2009 and is a 501(c)(3) non profit organization that strives to teach each player to give their very best effort in everything they do. The objective of Jr. Cats is to familiarize young athletes with the fundamentals of football and cheer. Provide them with the opportunity to play in an organized and supervised environment. To teach them that academics and athletics should be joint communal efforts. Our guiding principle for all decisions shall be centered on what is best for the football and cheer participants and Jr. Cats program.

OUR COACHES

All Jr. Cats coaches are certified volunteers through USA Heads Up Football, which is backed by the NFL to enhance fundamentals and expand knowledge to make Jr. Cats play better and safer. All volunteers are required to submit an annual volunteer application and every volunteer having contact with children in the program is required to go through a background check. Volunteer applications and background checks are required prior to any volunteer assuming their affiliate duties for the current playing season.

Jr. Cats Board members are committed volunteers throughout the Chehalis community who steer the organization towards a sustainable future by adopting sound, ethical, legal governance and financial management policies, as well as by making sure the nonprofit has adequate resources to advance it’s mission.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH

The Jr. Cats franchise is deeply ingrained in the Chehalis Community and our efforts expand past the football field. Jr. Cats are active participants, sponsors and supporters of Chehalis Little League Baseball and their annual Mud Run fundraiser and continue to provide contributions to local fundraisers such as the I-5 Valentine’s Day mixer, Chehalis Girls Fastpitch Association and W.F. West High School Bearcats.

SCHOLORSHIP

Jr. Cats believe all eligible athletes that want to play football or be a cheerleader should be able to, regardless of their financial situation. That is why Jr Cats provides a limited number of scholarships for young athletes to play football or cheer in addition to offering a cleat exchange for athletes. Bring in your old cleats and exchange them for a bigger size.

Jr. Cats Football is honored to be able to provide past Jr. Cats football players and cheerleaders, now Seniors at W.F. West High School, scholarship opportunities based on academics and community involvement. We have proudly awarded over $20,000 in scholarship since 2016.
